DOR! DOR? Das Land in dem ich geboren bin (2022)

In summer 2021 romanian teenagers with mostly german backgrounds came together to participate in a theater workshop. It was organized by Dr. Heinke Fabritius (Kulturreferentin für Siebenbürgen) and Petra Binder (cu TIMP pentru CULTURA).
The teenagers developed their own stories and poems, which in the end all came together in a theatrical performance.
Over a week, Ella Haas and I documented their creative journey from historical Brasov (Kronstadt) to Katzendorf in beautiful Siebenbürgen.

Together with Charlotte Fellner (editorial) and Vanessa Böhm (Camera) we accompanied Sabine, a female truck driver who is working on a big rig since 1987, on a 6-day tour from Niedersachen to Wellingborough, UK.
We got to know a great woman who told us a lot about how her dream job changed in modern, digital times.
Sabine allowed us to take part in her everyday work life between the Autobahn and gas stations.
We experienced first hand, under wich cicumstances truck drivers have to sleep on busy parking lots close to the Autobahn, an over 50 year old woman unloads a whole truck all by her self and how the european thought plays out for the people touring international.
Dieses in die Ferne fahren tells a story about someone who is working in a field that is often disrespected by the public,even though, the whole european internal market and society is reliant on the people who are doing this unforgiving job.
